2012-2013 The Santa Fe Symphony Chorus Auditions
The Symphony Chorus singers audition each season with pieces selected from the upcoming season repertory. If you are looking for a Chorus to join, we truly hope you will consider auditioning for The Symphony Chorus!

The Symphony Chorus Council and Choral Director Linda Raney are pleased to announce the following audition dates which have been added for Faure's Requiem and Carmina burana:

Auditions will be held from 5:00 to 8 p.m. in 10-minute time slots at the First Presbyterian Church in Santa Fe. To sign up, either contact The Symphony office at (505) 983-3530 or stop by The Symphony office: 551 West Cordova, Suite C ( next door to Maria's New Mexican Kitchen). Business hours are 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Symphony Chorus performances for the upcoming season include:

All are welcome to audition for contract singer positions. In addition to singing all of the four (4) selected audition pieces, to be considered for a paid position you will be asked to sight-sing and perform a prepared piece.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED IN PREPARATION FOR YOUR CHORUS AUDITION:

1. Singer Information Form — please print out the Singer Information Form and complete it prior to your audition. Please bring the completed form with you to your audition, if possible. If you have trouble printing the form, we will have blank copies available at the audition.

2. Standards for Auditioning Singers — please review this document prior to your audition.

We now have a new type of study aid - "Virtual Audition." Below are links to five MP3s of our accompanist, Bill Epstein, performing what he will play during the Santa Fe Symphony Chorus auditions. These music files are available for all Santa Fe Symphony Chorus auditionees to download in preparation for your auditions. We hope you find them useful! Please remember that if you qualify as a member singer, the annual dues of $35 are expected to be paid by the second rehearsal of the season. Income from dues allows the Symphony Chorus Council to invest in the Chorus by organizing vocal workshops, the ordering of study aids, other vocal improvement tools, and Chorus enhancement objectives. Dues also provide additional funds when needed for purchase of sheet music and vocal scores.
