Dr. Raney studied with Fiora Contino, Jan Harrington, George Krueger, Helmut Rilling, and Robert Shaw. After graduating from Indiana University, her choral studies continued with Helmut Rilling, Rene Clausen, Rodney Eichenberger, Alan Wickes, Andre Thomas, Anton Armstrong, Noble Weston, and Bob Chilcott.
In June 2008, Linda traveled to Umbria and Tuscany to direct the Santa Fe Women’s Ensemble in a concert tour. They sang in historic churches including the Chiesa dello Spirito Santo in Pistoia, where Linda concertized on the Hermann Organ from the 1600’s.
Since 1986, Linda’s day job is Director of Music/Organist at the historic First Presbyterian Church of Santa Fe, where a three manual, tracker action pipe organ built by the prestigious firm of C. B. Fisk from Gloucester, MA has just been installed. Playing the organ and directing the adult choirs of the church, Linda leads an ambitious church music program dedicated to excellence.
