FANFARE,
Santa Fe Symphony's Community Engagement Committee |
In 2002, an important group of friends of the Symphony, FanFare, the Santa Fe Symphony's Community Engagement Committee, embarked on an exciting new project to provide music education and concert opportunities for Santa Fe area youth and families.
Santa Fe and Northern New Mexico are well known for their cultural contributions in the performing and visual arts. Yet many of the youth of our city and the surrounding areas have not had the opportunity to experience this rich culture. FanFare’s mission is to involve the talents of our orchestra, chorus members, and contributing music scholars in providing experiential learning opportunities for children as well as adult audiences.
In addition to the award-winning mentor programs and scholoraships that are made available to youth in Santa Fe, Northern New Mexico, and beyond, FanFare also organizes free chamber music recitals by Santa Fe Symphony musicians for residents of retirement homes across Santa Fe.
Become part of this fun and exciting group, which helps our Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus bring a new sound of music to the youth of the greater Santa. Fe area. When you become a member of FanFare, you: |
| • |
support performances by talented Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus musicians at local schools. |
| • |
sustain Symphony-supported and local youth programs for students who exhibit special musical talent. |
| • |
support mentoring programs between Symphony musicians and talented young students. |
| • |
help the Santa Fe Symphony Orchestra & Chorus present concerts to the youth of Santa Fe and their families. |
| |
|
| Fanfare membership is only $25 a year for single members or $40 for families, plus a few hours’ worth of volunteering to carry on FanFare activities. Become a volunteer! |

We are the Music!

In
June, 2011, the 1000-member League of American Orchestras presented “FanFare” with Award of Excellence in the annual Gold Book Online competition. FanFare's project, entitled “We Are The Music,” will benefit thousands of Santa Fe third graders for many years to come. The award was presented at the League’s 66th National Conference in Minneapolis.
The annual Gold Book Online Competition recognizes outstanding projects created and executed by volunteer associations of symphonyorchestras throughout the United States and Canada. Projects are judged by the League’s Volunteer Council each fall. The Council’s awards honor volunteers who, through their hard work and dedication, help to ensure the success of their organizations. |
